The Reggio Emilia Approach to Early Education

Parkview uses the Reggio Emilia Approach to Early Education. Children learn on their feet, using their hands, and communicating their ideas in a number of ways. Children are often communicating their ideas by making artwork out of natural materials found in the earth.  Visual and tactile learning motivate a child’s deep engagement with their surroundings making for a rich and rewarding learning experience.

Emergent Curriculum

The Emergent Curriculum approach asks that our childcare Educators pay close attention to each child’s unique interests and development, evolving a course of investigation tailored to their interests and curiosities. Classroom activities and long-term projects are then created with these in mind.

Music Program

Music programs are a wonderful way for children to explore their creativity in a stimulating, hands-on environment. Music education at Parkview Children’s Centre sees children blissfully making music with the use of fun and simple instruments while learning about the key components of music.

We are thrilled to have Suzie Sunshine help lead our music programs.  Her performances have delighted preschool audiences since the 1970’s. We are proud to have the Suzie Sunshine Program be the foundation of our music curriculum in our childcare classrooms.
